Wake up. Look in the mirror. It is you - as it has always been. Shot on everyone's favourite, beloved, nationallly adored Tri-x in sumptuous Super 8! Well - as you can tell, the film was *hand* processed, in a delightful 1:100 standing solution of good' ol Rodinal. Well, "standing solution" - I didn't quite let this film stand, as you can tell - in fact, I thoroughly abused it. There are more scratches on this thing than your nephew's Ipad. This was scanned using a custom frame-by-frame apparatus. Essentially, an 8mm projector with a stepper motor and contact switch hooked up to a camera with a comically large macro lens + bellows combination. The end result is a fairly chaotic and visually distressing scan - perfect for this kind of esoteric nonsense! You'll notice the edges kind of 'wibble'. This is caused by microvibrations in the rig, with motor movement, shutter blades pull down claws ect, combined with the wretched effects of modern sensor technology. Yes - Indeed. I speak of the the feared 'ROLLING SHUTTER'. Bane of all videographers and people trying to photograph spinny things. But, in this case - I like it. Makes you feel *on edge*. *Distressed*. ***Wibbly***.
